Treatments for Depression   Depression is a mental disorder which affects about 350 million people worldwide. Its symptoms include, but are not limited to; Feelings of helplessness and hopelessness, loss of interest in daily activities, appetite or weight changes, insomnia or oversleeping, anger or irritability, loss of energy, self-loathing, reckless behavior, concentration problems, unexplained aches and pains and also suicidal thoughts.. Current popular treatments for depression include antidepressant medications and talk therapy such as counselling or psychotherapy. Unfortunately, these treatments have many drawbacks. AD medication is associated with a high risk of side effects and a low success rate, while therapy sessions are notoriously expensive, and often unaffordable or unobtainable for most people. Medical Treatments Medication for depression comes in the form of antidepressants. There are typically 4 classes of AD medication, SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), atypical antidepressants, tricyclics antidepressants and MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors). The SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) are the most commonly prescribed class of antidepressants. They act on a chemical in the brain called serotonin. The SSRIs include drugs such as Prozac, Zoloft, and Paxil. SSRIs are preferred over older classes of antidepressants because their adverse effects are less severe, however, like all antidepressants, SSRIs…

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Treatment

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Treatment Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is variable and unpredictable, and the condition takes its toll on the patient physically, mentally and emotionally. A number of studies have been performed, with one particular study determining poor early management of the disorder as a primary risk factor for severe CFS. Among the medical community, there is still no consensus on the best course of action for this disease. Most doctors feel that there is no cure for this condition, and limit their treatment to managing the symptoms. There is controversy over different approaches, and main ones being: • Prescription medications • Lifestyle changes • Diet • Nutritional supplements • Graded exercise therapy • Cognitive behavioral therapy • Other alternative/complementary treatments As it affects the patients not only physically but also mentally and emotionally, a holistic approach needs to be taken. It is also important that the people around patients understand the condition, and realize that the patient is not just “being lazy” or “constantly feeling down” – chronic fatigue syndrome IS a serious illness and has severe symptoms. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Cognitive behavioral therapy helps individuals to interpret their symptoms, which in turn helps the patient to shape their…

How Acidity Food Affects Your Oral Heath

How Acidity Food Affects Your Oral Heath   Most people assume that teeth cavities just occur out of the blue and there’s nothing they can do about it. What they don’t seem to know is that tooth decay is similar to a bacterial infection. We’ve all heard of the strep throat infection caused by Streptococcus pyogenes. The main bacterium responsible for tooth decay is Streptococcus Mutans. It is widely believed that this bacterium utilizes sugar as a source of energy to reproduce rapidly and release acid as a byproduct. This acid is harmful to teeth’s enamel – the protective layer of the tooth. Repeated long exposure to these acid attacks will weaken the enamel, and thus, result in tooth decaying. This process is known as demineralization. Demineralization occurs at pH levels lower than 5.5 from a scale of 14. If you recall your chemistry class, pH levels lower than 7 are acidic and pH levels higher than 7 are alkaline. It is found that when sugar is introduced, cavity-causing bacteria can utilize it and bring the saliva to very acidic levels in as little as 30 minutes. During demineralization, crucial molecules are drawn out of the enamel, thus weakening its…

Stabilizing Oxygen to Cure Cold Sores   Cold sores can occur in both adults and children. This virus cannot survive in a healthy body which has normal levels of oxygen and a strong immune system. Often people affected by it are advised to keep their hygiene and surroundings clean and tidy. Being a highly contagious disease, it is easily transmitted from one person to other either through saliva, body contact, depleted skin contact, clothes used near the affected area, utensils, etc. People experiencing it need to take their day off from their work because they risk spreading the disease to their manager, peers or to their customers. The cold sore virus is present in almost 90% of the population according to an alternative medicine expert. In this 90% population only few of them complain of problems from cold sores because severity of this HSV – 1 virus in these people is a bit higher. Often stress, anxiety, weak immune system, acidity, low levels of oxygen, food habits, alcohol, etc are all responsible for triggering the cold sore outbreak. Many people have been successful in suppressing outbreaks after employing alternate therapies with the regular medication. Lower levels of oxygen in their…

Fast Cure For Ringworm By William Oliver, Nutritionist, Medical Researcher, and Author of the Fast Ringworm Cure e-book.   I get asked all the time, “What is the best cure for Ringworm?” There are many cures, treatments and home remedies available at your disposal. While most doctors prescribe some type of weird fungus cream or medication, this isn’t always the best route and can do more harm to your body than good. Think about it, anything that isn’t natural and is made up of chemicals isn’t going to nourish and provide your body with the strength it needs. The worst thing you can do is to “sit and wait” for it to magically heal on it’s own. When people do this, they’re often in for a lot more pain and discomfort than they need to go through. You want this skin condition over and done with quickly, so that you can move on with your life and have this be something of the past. Over the years I’ve spent studying and researching this skin condition, I’ve tested almost every treatment and remedy available on the market. I began exploring home-made remedies, as they are more ideal for your body, are…

How to Use Blast Technique To Increase Sexual Stamina By Edward White   Many men think that the only way to correct the problem of premature ejaculation is to try harder not to come while having sex with their partners. They’ll grit their teeth, think of their friend’s grandma, count backwards from 1000—they’ll do whatever they can to distract themselves from the fact that they’re close to climaxing. The truth is, sometimes the best way to extend your sexual performance is to learn techniques that are designed to be used when you aren’t having sex. The ‘Blast’ concept is one such technique. You should try to perform this whole thing in the shower, because it can be a tad messy. Plus, any noise that’s created is masked by the sound of the falling water. It’s just nicer, to be honest—warm and convenient. It’s also a time that is scheduled in your daily life. So if you have a shower every morning, you can use this technique during it, at the same time every other day. This helps you to avoid forgetting to perform the technique. Start by getting in the shower. Get lots of very warm eater cascading all over…
